Exit from Airport onto the I-59/I-20 entrance ramp. Take I-59 South. Stay in the right lane; take US 280 exit. (Going under the overpass immediately after exit and then curving to the left). You will be on Red Mountain Expressway. Follow to Highway 280 East exit (curves to the left). Travel Highway 280 East for approximately 8 miles, through Mt. Brook and Inverness, passing numerous restaurants and strip malls. Go through the intersection of Highway 280 and Highway 119. (There will be a Wachovia Bank on your right and BP Oil on your left at the intersection) At the next light, turn left on Hugh Daniel Drive. Follow Hugh Daniel Drive to the end, this will take you up and over the mountain. When you come to the stop sign turn left on Highway 41. Drive approximately 1 mile. There will be 3 flag poles and a guard gate on your right. Turn in and tell the guard where you need to go and he will direct you.
Directions to Shoal Creek from Tuscaloosa
Continue through Tuscaloosa on 20/59 for about 30 miles take the I-459 exit. Continue on 459 and take exit 19 which is Hwy 280. Turn right on Hwy 280 east travel about 4 miles. You will make a left hand turn on Hugh Daniel Drive. Travel Hugh Daniel up and over the mountain until you come to a stop sign. Turn left on to Hwy 41. Travel 1 mile and Shoal Creek gate will be on the right hand side. You will see three flag poles and a guard gate.
Directions to Shoal Creek Coming North on I-65
From I-65 take exit 246, which is highway 119N. Follow highway 119 about 8 miles to US 280. Turn right on 280 (make sure you immediately get into the left hand lane). Follow 280 east approximately 3 blocks to the first traffic light. You will make a left turn at this traffic light onto Hugh Daniel Drive. Follow Hugh Daniel Drive for three miles. This will take you over the mountain. When you come to the stop sign you will make a left turn onto County road 41. Travel approximately one mile, Shoal Creek will be on the right. This in an unmarked facility; however there will be three flagpoles, a guard house and two large iron gates marking the entrance.
